Stream Video: ZvX Basics Zerg Fundamentals – Drone Saturation
One of my favorite topics to discuss, drone saturation is one of the most important fundamentals to learn and improve. Being a skilled macro player is about more than reaching full 16-drone mineral saturation at all your bases. It’s about reaching your ideal economy as quickly as possible and having a plan of how to effectively manage your ideal economy. To max-out, I aim for 3 fully saturated mineral bases (48 Drones) with between 4 and 6 gas geysers(12-18 Drones), which is a sufficient economy to max-out on a wide variety of potent compositions (Ling/Bane/Muta, Roach/Infestor/Hydra, etc.). No Zerg player has perfect drone micro, but this stream video details what you need to know to keep an economic edge over your opponent.

There is no video, I am forwarded to http://www.twitch.tv/tangsc/videos.
Thanks for commenting, Talus. The video was deleted after a week because I forgot to click “Save Forever”. I streamed a new tutorial on the topic ^^
What do you do if you are fully saturated at your Main and at your Natural and have no Drones at your 3d and you suddenly need a Hydralisk Den asap? Do you exceptionally use a mining Drone for the Hydralisk Den and then rebuild the Drone?
Yes, exactly. Sometimes I’ll create a structure or two, then build drones rallied to the patches I took them off.
Informative video. I pretty much do this already, but I still learned a few tricks here and there.
Off topic: You probably hear this all the time, but you really need to invest in a better headset. The sound of your microphone is plain horrible. Since you do so much tutorials and video guides this should be a top priority! ^^
Thanks for the guide!
Thanks for the tip, will look into a new headset ASAP.
These fundamentals tutorials are really helpful. I seem to remember professional players saying that mechanics are more important than strategy at the lower levels. I can’t say whether or not they’re right, but these lessons have definitely improved my play drastically. Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to make them!
